I was deeply impressed when I heard that there is a Rotary Club even in Iringa. Destory is a member there and was kind enough to take us to one of their meetings. I had simply dismissed my ten-minute delay with a “Pole, Pole” (always nice and slow), meaning to trigger a general laugh. Far from it. There is a lot of emphasis on punctuality and discipline, the Western virtues. Despite all this, I was given a full 90 minutes to present our scholarship program and answer questions.
At the end of the event, all participants were enthusiastic and promised us their future support.
